You Can Call Me Crazy Busy or Maybe Just Crazy!

I’m writing this at the CLNC® Certification Seminar in Atlanta after I just came off one of the most hectic weeks of my life. First I had the official launch of my new book Wicked Success Is Inside Every Woman. If you haven’t been following me on Facebook or Twitter, Wicked Success hit #1 on Amazon.com, #3 on the USA Today business bestseller list and, if you can believe this, it was not only #3 on the Wall Street Journal’s bestselling business book list but also #8 on the WSJ’s bestselling nonfiction book list in the same week! And my publisher just told me Wicked Success will be #6 on the New York Times bestseller list on Sunday October 9th! Thank you all for supporting the book and sharing it with all the women you love. Being a New York Times bestselling author is every writer’s dream and you helped to make that dream come true.

Sooner is Better than Later for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

I’ve been training and mentoring nurses to start legal nurse consulting businesses for more than 29 years. In all that time, I’ve never met a successful CLNC® consultant who said “I wish I had waited to start my CLNC® business.” What I always hear Certified Legal Nurse Consultants say is “I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner.”

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Create an Ergonomic Workspace for Your Legal Nurse Consulting Office

One thing I stress to CLNC® consultants is that it’s not how new or how fast your computer is, it’s whether or not you’re using it correctly. Using a computer correctly goes far beyond having the proper software necessary for your legal nurse consulting business, such as Microsoft® Word, Excel and Outlook and even goes beyond running Windows® 7 or XP or, heaven forbid, a Mac®.

Certified Legal Nurse Consultant Discusses How Endurance with One Attorney Paid Big

I was referred to an attorney by a medical testifying expert I know. Because of that referral, I got right through to the attorney and thought “this is going to be easy.” I couldn’t have been more wrong. After briefly discussing my CLNC® services, he responded “I have been doing this for 35 years myself. There is no way you can do a better job than I do.” I acknowledged his expertise as the attorney and then proceeded to explain how I could save him time and money by screening his cases first before he sent them to expensive MD experts. He didn’t bite.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Certified Legal Nurse Consultants Think All for One and One for All – But Maybe Not All-in-One

There’s a lot of buzz on the Internet concerning All-in-One computers. If your busy legal nurse consulting business has kept you from seeing one of these and you don’t know what they are, an All-in-One is a computer that consists solely of a really big monitor, keyboard and mouse. Unlike most desktop computers, there’s no tower; the complete footprint is that of a large monitor. The hard drive, optical (CD/DVD) drive and generally high-quality speakers are built right into the display unit. USB, FireWire ports, microphone and headset jacks are discretely built into the side and back of the unit.

Certified Legal Nurse Consultants – Time to Lead Yourself to Success

This weekend I am privileged to be presenting the Women Embracing Leadership events with Stedman Graham. I confess that when I was a young nurse “leadership” was a word that didn’t get my juices going. It was too traditional and boring for this renegade nurse who didn’t fit in an institutional hospital environment.

Three Words for Today: Get to Work!

You know that thing you have always wanted to do? I confess I am often perplexed by a person who can never for the life of them achieve a goal they’ve set for themselves. They set the goal, they want the benefits of achieving that goal and then that’s the end of it.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Certified Legal Nurse Consultants – Restore Yourselves or at Least Your Windows Computer

I recently installed a new piece of freeware on my laptop. Freeware is software that doesn’t cost anything. In other words, it’s someone’s gift to the world – think of Firefox as an example. Quite often freeware is open source software, which means that after the creator gives up trying to fix the bugs in the program, he or she puts the source code on the Internet and lets other people turn it into something reliable. Again, think Firefox.
