Exceptions

There are several exceptions to the Institute’s privacy policies. These are as follows:

  • The Institute will release specific information to comply with valid legal processes such as search warrants, subpoenas or court orders issued by a court of competent jurisdiction.
  • To protect the Institute’s rights and property in the sole discretion of the Institute.
  • During emergencies when, in the sole discretion of the Institute, we believe physical safety is at risk.

Security

The Institute uses state-of-the-art technology to keep your personal information as secure as possible both online and offline. Each of the Institute’s employees must comply with the Institute’s Privacy Policy. Only authorized employees of the Institute are permitted to gain access to your personal information and such access is limited by need. All employees of the Institute are required to acknowledge that they understand and will comply with the Institute’s Privacy Policy. Employees who violate our privacy policies are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

The Institute uses the industry’s highest standard of data encryption and positive identification technology to ensure that your online purchasing experience is safe and secure. Security measures are triggered automatically when you enter our online shopping cart. Your order will be submitted only if your computer and our server are communicating in a secure mode.

We employ stringent security technology to encrypt sensitive information, including your contact information and credit card information. If you prefer to complete your order by phone rather than online, please call us at 713.942.2200 between 8:30am and 4:30pm Central Standard Time.

Before your order and personal information are transmitted to the Institute, your browser will make a positive identification that communication is being conducted with the Institute’s servers. While on a secure page the lock icon in the address bar or on the bottom of Web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox® and Microsoft® Internet Explorer® appears locked, as opposed to unlocked (or open). Only upon authentication of a secure connection to the Institute’s servers will your order be processed online. This authentication by your browser takes place when you enter the shopping cart, before your order is actually submitted to the Institute.

Your encrypted information is automatically transferred via a secure connection to a secure server not accessible to anyone online. Your order is then processed internally; no one except the Institute’s order processors will have access to your information.

None of our website visitors, customers, students, CLNC® consultants and/or NACLNC® Association members has ever reported fraudulent use of a credit card as a result of purchases made on this website or from the Institute. In the event that your credit card is used to make a purchase online without your authorization and your credit card issuer holds you liable, the Institute will reimburse you for the liability you incur for unauthorized use, up to a maximum of fifty dollars ($50). You must notify your credit card issuer of the unauthorized use in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures in order to qualify for this protection. Our customer service representatives will work with you to resolve such situations quickly with the least amount of inconvenience to you.

Information Request Form

Information received from you via the Information Request Form on this website is used solely to identify you to the Institute to aid us in answering any questions that you may have. Unless you request otherwise, the information you provide is not used by the Institute for any purpose other than answering your inquiry(ies) or as described above.

We recommend that you be aware when you leave our website and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.

Third-Party Service Providers

As discussed above, the Institute uses a third-party service provider to provide the platform for the Institute’s online programs. Use of the Institute’s online programs will require the Institute to share simple registration and contact information, such as your name, company name, address, phone number, and email address, but not financial or credit card information with such third party. If you choose to purchase additional resources and/or other educational programs from and through said third-party provider (and not the Institute), you may be asked for a credit card or other information at that time and the Institute recommends that you read the privacy policy for such provider at the time of purchase.

Affiliate Relationships

The Institute maintains an affiliate relationship with certain third parties. Certain sections of this site, as well as the Legal Nurse Consultant Blog, may contain affiliate links to those parties. An affiliate link is a special URL which lets those parties know you reached that site through a recommendation. If you purchase a product via that affiliate link, the Institute may receive a commission for referring you. If you choose to purchase additional resources or other items from and through said third parties, you may be asked for a credit card or other information at that time and the Institute recommends that you read the privacy policy for such provider at the time of purchase.
