I love this time of year. Everything and everybody is a little lighter and a lot brighter. Tom and I have a favorite Christmas tradition that starts tomorrow and I can’t wait. We celebrate each day of the Twelve Days of Christmas with simple gifts – a book, a DVD or some small treasure we’ve brought back from the road. The real fun is hiding the gift. Sometimes I’ll put Tom’s gift out early in the morning, say on our tea tray. Other times I’ll torture him by putting it out just before we go to bed. He’s extremely inventive and I often find gifts in the unlikeliest of places, such as the pocket of my winter coat.
