My Favorite Gift This Year (To Give and Receive)

This year the best gift I’ve received so far, was one I bought myself. It’s a book called Wheat Belly by cardiologist William Davis and it isn’t technically a diet book, it’s a dietary modification book.

My Most Memorable CLNC® Case

My Most Memorable CLNC® Case: We Did the Case for Free and Everyone Was a Winner

While attending the NACLNC Conference I was reminded to keep marketing even when I have cases. Vickie’s conferences always get me motivated and ready to go! When I got home still revved up, my thoughts turned to how to get our CLNC business on more attorney’s radars. I started hearing on the news about one of our local active DA offices. This DA seemed to attract a lot of media attention. The idea hit me that maybe we could help! I talked with my partner, JoAnn, about volunteering to do a case. Giving back to our community would benefit the DA’s office and we would continue to build our CLNC skills.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: The Future Ain’t What It Used to Be – But for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants It Can Be!

Hard to believe, but this is my last Tuesday Tech Tip for 2012. It’s been an exciting year with so many new gizmos and gadgets coming out. I’m sure every CLNC consultant has a major case of tech envy. There have been new models of iPads, iPhones, Galaxy phones, Google and Windows tablets and then, if that wasn’t enough – Windows 8 changes the desktop and phones. It’s been enough to make my head spin, and I can’t wait until Christmas to see what little goodies Santa leaves under the tree for me.

Woo-Hoo! The Twelve Days of Christmas Start Tomorrow!

I love this time of year. Everything and everybody is a little lighter and a lot brighter. Tom and I have a favorite Christmas tradition that starts tomorrow and I can’t wait. We celebrate each day of the Twelve Days of Christmas with simple gifts – a book, a DVD or some small treasure we’ve brought back from the road. The real fun is hiding the gift. Sometimes I’ll put Tom’s gift out early in the morning, say on our tea tray. Other times I’ll torture him by putting it out just before we go to bed. He’s extremely inventive and I often find gifts in the unlikeliest of places, such as the pocket of my winter coat.

No Plan B – Only Plan CLNC®

I just bought the new Van Morrison album “Born to Sing: No Plan B” as a Christmas gift for Tom and my best friend, Missy. (Shhhh! It’s a secret.)

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Carrying a Mini-Mouse is No Mickey Mouse Idea for Legal Nurse Consultants

Legal Nurse Consulting laptop users have long been faced with one of a couple choices when working away from their home office. You can use the touchpad, the pointing stick or carry a mouse with you. None of those are exactly convenient and production and work on your legal nurse consulting reports can slow to a crawl. I use a trackball at work and carry a full-size mouse on the road, but when I’m on an airplane or writing a Tech Tip from some coffeehouse, I feel the mouse-less pain.

Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, Can You Care Too Much?

There’s nothing worse than someone who cares so little about their job that they put themselves into the space of mediocrity. You know the person, it’s the nurse who drifts through the shift, not extending herself beyond what’s barely necessary to get through to the end of the day. No thought, no effort, no engagement. Content to be mediocre day after day after day.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: WhoIs Using WhoIs? Savvy Certified Legal Nurse Consultants – That’s Who!

Every once in a while, when you’re researching on the Internet for one of your legal nurse consulting projects, you’ll run across a website without clear ownership. It may totally support or contradict a position you’re taking as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant in a case, or it may simply be the only site that takes that position. To help determine a website’s potential credibility (or lack thereof), you’ll want to determine who owns the site. Searching around the site for its “contact us” or “about us” page may not help, or you may not have much luck cross-researching the company name listed there.
