Tom may be Mr. Tech Tip, but I think the “techies” of the world need a real-world consultant like me. I find technology challenging, daunting and sometimes disturbing. For all the progress we’ve made moving forward, some things are even more difficult than ever.
You’ve all read about how much fun I had replacing Vickie’s keyboard. I’m not that much of a slow learner, so when it was time to help my parents find a new keyboard, I was going to do this right the first time.
A new 563 page modification to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) takes effect on March 26, 2013 with compliance by effected parties required by September 23, 2013. This is truly a sweeping rule change and Certified Legal Nurse Consultants should be aware of these changes for both their legal nurse consulting business and nursing practice.
While in Jamaica during the NACLNC Conference Cruise, a common refrain was “No problem, Mon.” One of the Jamaicans explained, “Here in Jamaica we don’t have problems; we only have situations.”
Vickie always says, “Word of mouth is the best referral technique.” I find word of mouth works in other areas as well. For example, there are literally millions of apps on the market for the literally millions of devices that use apps. When I’m out and about, I’m always glad to meet another iPhone junkie and share tips, tricks and apps with them. Like all of you busy Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, I don’t have time to sort through the App Store, read all the app reviews and, in an insecure fashion, worry about how securely those apps will treat my private data.
Ahoy! Thank you for making the 2013 National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants Conference Cruise such a success. I loved hearing how much you learned from our speakers and seeing you networking with fellow CLNC Weekenders. It was such a blast partying with a purpose all week long with you.
There comes a time in the life of every Certified Legal Nurse Consultant when you’ll want to capture an image of either your complete computer screen or just a pop-up window. When I’m providing tech support at LegalNurse.com one of the first questions I’ll ask is, “What error message did you get?”
I’m off the ship and on my way to the first Starbucks I can find before boarding our flight home from the 2013 NACLNC Conference Cruise. This morning I had my healthy green tea, but what I really want, or is it need, is a steaming hot cup of coffee with two added shots of espresso.
This is it − the final day. It’s hard to believe the 2013 NACLNC Conference Cruise is almost over! The past 6 days went by so fast it feels like we just got onboard! Today is a total day of cruising and relaxation and believe me, we’ve all earned it!
Before I take up cruising as a lifestyle I need to contemplate the cost of a whole new wardrobe made up completely of expandable clothing. I think I’ve found every possible place to eat on the ship, and eaten there! What about you?
