I thought I’d start out 2015 by wishing all my CLNC amigos and other readers a happy New Year. I also wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER for any Certified Legal Nurse Consultant to download a malware package to your computer because you clicked on a link in an unexpected or suspicious email.
It took me completely by surprise, but earlier this month Microsoft released versions of its Office productivity software Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as three separate apps for the iOS. That means that Certified Legal Nurse Consultants who are iPhone and iPad users can enjoy the benefits of reading, creating and editing egal nurse consulting documents on their iOS devices.
I love the holidays and, unlike most people, I love to travel during the holidays. That may sound counterintuitive – but traveling for business during the year becomes routine to me. Hopping onto a United Airlines 737 is really no different than boarding a Greyhound bus to Poughkeepsie (The passengers are more fragrant on one than the other – you’re right either way you pick.).
Nothing annoys me more than getting fan mail from a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, attorney or other professional that ends with “Sent from my iPhone,” “Sent from my Samsung Galaxy” or worse, “Sent from my Blackberry” (While the first two might cause gadget envy, the last one is more likely to create a sense of pity. LOL!).
One of the most useful websites I’ve found is Dropbox. It’s a cloud-based storage site that allows you to securely upload and download large documents. Certified Legal Nurse Consultants will find this site useful to send a report that’s too large to email to an attorney-client.
In my Tech Tip – Don’t Fall Off the (File) Path I gave Certified Legal Nurse Consultants an easy way to insert a document file path into their legal nurse consulting work-product to help keep track of file locations. In today’s Tech Tip I’m going to give you another way to use the use either Windows Explorer or the File Open menu, to navigate to a legal nurse consulting document or image on your computer or network and easily attach that file to an email or instead, move it to another location (say a working file or network location).
I love my iPhone and can’t wait to upgrade to the new iPhone 6. Based on backorders though, it’ll be late November or early December before I can get my hands on one. Most CLNC consultants are probably suffering the same wait. But the burning question all my CLNC amigos have to ponder (while they wait) is whether we simply want a larger, faster iPhone (the screen on the iPhone 6 measures 4.7” diagonally versus the 4” iPhone 5s) or want the extra larger, faster iPhone 6 Plus, a so-called phablet (yes it’s a real word – Google it yourself) measuring in at 5.7” diagonally (slightly smaller than the 7.9” iPad Mini).
Okay, this Tech Tip isn’t in any way about sex, drugs or rock and roll, but I had to get your attention somehow and “Easy Paragraph Formatting Tips for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants” just doesn’t do it. So, now that you’re reading – let’s get started.
Email is ubiquitous – except when it’s not. When you’re waiting for an important email from an attorney-client, CLNC subcontractor or your CLNC Certification Examination results from LegalNurse.com, the last thing you want is for that email to never, ever show up.
If you’re anything like me, and you probably may be – even more than I am myself, you’ve lost an important document for your legal nurse consulting business somewhere on your computer. It could be misfiled in the wrong directory, somewhere on your “C” drive or just lost in cyberspace.
