Okay, this Tech Tip isn’t in any way about sex, drugs or rock and roll, but I had to get your attention somehow and “Easy Paragraph Formatting Tips for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants” just doesn’t do it. So, now that you’re reading – let’s get started.
Working with Microsoft® Word® can be challenging to CLNC® consultants due to the way Word automatically formats text, sometimes as you type! In prior Tech Tips I’ve discussed workarounds such as using the Format Painter tool to reformat text. Today, my CLNC Amigos, I’m going to tackle paragraphs.
Love them or hate them, paragraphs make up all of our documents and, like excuses, come with different justifications. You have left-aligned, right-aligned, centered, left or right justified and even hanging indents. Using the Format Painter tool is one way to format paragraphs to match other paragraphs – but what if you just want to change the formatting of one paragraph in one of your legal nurse consulting reports and don’t have another to match it to?
Well it’s easy. Just set your cursor in front of the first word of the offending paragraph, then hold down the Shift key and use your down or right arrow keys to highlight the paragraph. Then, select one of the keyboard shortcut commands from the chart below to reformat your paragraph. Yes, it’s that easy.
Total disclosure – this chart came from Microsoft® Word Help. I think it will help you when creating your legal nurse consulting reports for your attorney-clients. Especially now that you know about it too.
Keep on Techin’,
Tom
P.S. Comment and share your favorite Word keyboard shortcut.
I really appreciate your input, Tom! I live with a computer programmer and that really makes my computer life much easier. But I still find out things from you that I never heard before! Thanks again!
