Yesterday I learned that the Vietnamese version of my Wall Street Journal bestseller Inside Every Woman: Using the 10 Strengths You Didn’t Know You Had to Get the Career and Life You Want Now was published.

When you sell the foreign rights, the new publisher creates a new cover, usually different than the original U.S. version. As a result, it’s fun to see how each country treats the cover of my book and how it varies from country to country.

Slumdog Millionaire Entrepreneurship for Legal Nurse Consultants

On February 4th I gave an assignment for all Certified Legal Nurse Consultants attending the 2009 NACLNC Conference to go see the movie Slumdog Millionaire and to identify Jamal’s maverick entrepreneurial moves. What a CLNC® Consultant Can Learn From “Friendly” Neighborhood Soccer Moms

I live in what could almost be described as a pastoral setting. Although I live in Houston, the fourth largest city in the U.S., I actually live in a city within the city of Houston. It’s a small neighborhood with its own fire and police departments. On Saturday mornings, you can watch the hunky firemen wash and wax the fire trucks. We’ve got a couple of little league and soccer fields and when the weather’s nice the morning air is filled with the sounds of sprinklers and the evenings are filled with the sounds of children having fun and engaging in organized chaos.

Sunday, March 8 is International Women’s Day and we’re celebrating the achievements of women, economically, socially and politically. Wherever you are and whatever you plan to celebrate, I’ll bet that your life is probably a lot like mine – crazy busy with your legal nurse consulting business, your family, the myriad responsibilities in your life with little time left for celebrating, much less time for your women friends.

NACLNC® 2009 – Slumdog Entrepreneurship

Between now and March 12th, you must go and see the movie Slumdog Millionaire. That movie has won 5 Critics Choice awards, 4 Golden Globes® and is nominated in X different Oscar® categories.

My family is pretty competitive. It started with dad beating us out of our lunch money at cards. And, having an athletic twin brother also raised the competition in the family sports department.

It Doesn’t Get Much Better Than This!

Thanks to all of you who joined Vickie and me at my surprise birthday party Saturday night. Today’s really my birthday but to get 80 adults and miscellaneous children to stay out until the wee hours on a work night is pretty hard, so she planned it for January 17, the Saturday before.

Running on Empty

About an hour from when the photo below was taken, just a block from my home, the street was filled with runners from the Houston Marathon. Over 23,000 participants showed up to run. Some finished in just over two hours while others were still running (or had dropped out) when the six-hour time limit expired.
