Would you like your nursing career to be different in 2016 than it was in 2015? Is burnout making it impossible to create the momentum necessary to get going? Are excuses driving (or stopping) you and your nursing career?
If you’re ready to overpower the excuses that stopped you from full throttle living in 2015 all you have to do is look around you. When I’m in the gym I’m inspired by a guy who has a progressive neurological disorder. It’s almost painful to watch him walk, but there he is in the gym every day fighting his disease with all his might and more. How can I possibly have any excuses for giving less than my all (and more) to my own workout?
It’s easy to make excuses for what we don’t do and why we’re not taking care of the business of working out, eating right, networking for our legal nurse consulting business and exhibiting to attorneys (to name just a few).
Life and business are not always easy, but excuses are. We can choose excuses or action. If you need a dose of motivation to cut out the excuses just take a hard look around. If my fellow gym rat doesn’t motivate you into action, I’m sure you can easily find someone else making the best of difficult circumstances who will.
Take the time to look around and excuses will lose their power over you and your nursing career.
Success Is Yours!
P.S. Comment and share who motivates you for your RN job or legal nurse consulting business when you take the time to look around.
So true!! I attended the Philadelphia CLNC® Certification Seminar and left ready to conquer the world. Only to return home to the grind of averaging 96 or so hours every 2 weeks. My motivation was as beaten down as my tired feet at the end of each day. But I know I must be the change I wish to see, so I’m off to exhibit this coming weekend….terrified and excited at the same time, but also fully realizing that if I do not step forward I will always be in this place.
