How often you reboot your computer depends on a number of factors. If you use a laptop in your legal nurse consulting business you probably reboot it more often than a desktop user. Some laptop users (like me) have a dock armed with dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc. Others simply put their laptop on a desk and snap it open or closed as necessary.

In June of 2014, I began a diligent search for entrepreneurial nursing opportunities. I’ve always enjoyed working for myself. Something I’ve learned about computer problems is that I’m not the only one experiencing them. Yes, Mr. Thomas Tech-Tip has computer issues – probably more than most people. But something I’ve learned is that no matter what your problem may be, there is a high probability that someone else is experiencing it or has experienced it in the past.

When I plan a project or event I expect the best, but plan for the worst. For example, when I fly to a CLNC Certification Seminar city I’ll usually take an early morning flight to ensure I arrive timely even if there are flight delays or cancellations. Sure, I can take the chance that everything will go perfectly and avoid getting to the airport at the crack of dawn by flying out much later in the day. But that strategy only works if everything goes perfectly, which you know if you fly, is as rare as getting good service or an in-flight meal!
Remember that old-fashioned combination lock you had on your locker in gym class, nursing school, your RN hospital job or at your CrossFit® class? If you do, I’m sure you also remember that you always had trouble remembering the combination.
Yes, it really is the little things in life that can make our day. All Certified Legal Nurse Consultants know I start every day with a cup of healthy green tea. That’s my “me” time and it’s a tradition I’ve faithfully followed no matter where in the world I find myself. Whether I’m revving up for a busy work day, gorilla-trekking in Rwanda or just spending time with my niece Reese, I start my day with quiet tea time.
