I shudder to think about the RN I’d be today if I hadn’t left my RN job at the hospital in 1982. At that time I was working overtime to pay the mortgage on my 1,200 square foot condominium and knew I was way too mouthy and opinionated to last another 35 years in a draconian institutional setting.
I lived in America. I was free. But I would never truly know freedom until I rose up to it and lived my dream of starting my legal nurse consulting business.
Having traveled to parts of the world where freedom is not a word in the dictionary, I never take the privilege of freedom lightly. Freedom is not just a concept or mental state, it’s a responsibility that falls to each of us to rise up to. Only when we do so are we truly free.
Do you rise up to freedom and all that it offers you, or are you a prisoner in your own mind?

P.S. Comment and share how you rise up to freedom to achieve your legal nurse consulting dreams.
Vickie,
You are so right, again. I wish I could bottle your wisdom and keep it with me! We are a female dominated profession, and women are more likely to doubt their ability to be successful in business and life. It is a mentality we must change. I am struggling with this very problem. Each day I have to choose positive thoughts. I have to retrain myself to think of success. “We are nurses and we can do anything!®”
