One of my vendors Matthew (the name has been changed to protect the guilty) recently dropped the ball. Because he has a great track record all he really needed to do was acknowledge it and we would have gotten quickly back on track. But instead of owning his mistake, he chose to ignore it, apparently just wishing it would all disappear.
Today when I was working out with my trainer, it seemed I was doing everything wrong. It didn’t matter if I was doing a chest-press, a squat or even lying flat on my back in exhaustion – he was correcting me. This could have had something to do with my late night hanging with friends (or not).
I asked two CLNC® Pros to share a situation where they’ve saved their attorney-client’s case. Whether saving a case means figuring it out when the medical expert can’t, or coming through despite a tight deadline, the result is the same. The attorney notices and thinks of you when the next medical-related case comes through their door.

I’m a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil and have seen most of their shows. They do everything so well – costumes, acrobatics, acts, clowns and music. I always come away awed at their creativity and reminded of the importance of striving for excellence in business. In one show the aerial acrobatics surpassed anything I had ever seen.
I’m not one to advocate “Barbie-Dolling” it (don’t you just hate that?), but one thing I’ve learned is that the happier I am, the happier I am. Happiness is not only contagious to others, it’s contagious to ourselves. My grandmother had multiple sclerosis, yet she was one of the happiest people I’ve known. She taught me that happiness is not a condition – happiness is a choice.
In my 41 years of business experience, I’ve learned that I don’t need to take a majority vote on every issue. I don’t always go with the herd and can comfortably make decisions that are contrary to what the majority thinks. But I’ve also learned that I care more about being successful than being right.
I’ve eaten just about every variety of food in restaurants around the world. I’ve dined from the humble carts of street vendors in Saigon and in ultra-modern Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris, but I keep returning to one chef’s place every chance I get. The food is exquisite, tasty and such a sensory experience that I have devoured every dish he has ever put in front of me. This guy is a perfectionist not only about the food but also the plates on which each course is presented. Here’s one of his creations – a one-bite crab salad – served on a series of Rosenthal china plates that the chef himself commissioned.
People often ask me: “Vickie, of the places you’ve been, what is your all-time favorite trip?” I’m not a fan of this question because every trip is a favorite in its own way. My response has been the same for years: “If I can only pick one, it would have to be Nepal.” Nepal was my first expedition, so I felt daring, rugged and adventurous. I also fell in love with the incredible contrasts there.
