What Are You Going to Do with It Now?

I’m a big fan of data. As an entrepreneur, one of the lessons I’ve learned is that what gets measured gets done, or at least gets analyzed. Whether you’re running a legal nurse consulting business or selling cupcakes, data helps you to run and manage your business and you can’t run a business without data. But a big mistake I see people making is not putting brain power into the data analysis once it’s collected. Data doesn’t mean anything if it’s not interpreted properly.

A CLNC student completed the CLNC Online Certification Program and attended the CLNC Certification Seminar to take the CLNC Certification Exam. She shared with me that she had already gotten her first attorney-client. She talked excitedly about how she quoted $125/hr without hesitation and that the attorney immediately hired her.

Use Your Energy to Master Your Cravings – Before Your Cravings Master Your Energy

We celebrate staff birthdays once a month at LegalNurse.com. We used to gather in the conference room, light the candles on a big cake (23 employees eat a lot of cake and no, it wasn’t stale white cake) and sing a bad version of “Happy Birthday” to those whose birthdays was being feted. Cakes don’t tempt me much, so I easily passed up a slice. When I’m working I keep sugar and processed carbs out of my diet. I find my mind is sharper and my energy stays high. Instead, I eat lots of veggies and protein (which increases focus and awareness). Do I need to mention starting my day with two cups of healthy green tea and ending it with a small amount of healthy red wine?

Postcards Are a Cheap and Effective Marketing Strategy for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

Have you noticed that you’re getting a lot less snail mail these days? Technology rules and one day soon our postal system won’t be delivering those stacks of magazines and catalogs to our door six days a week. The trend toward email and texting is exactly why this is the perfect time to send postcards to attorney-prospects. I actually notice postcards more today than I did ten years ago because I receive a lot fewer of them.

Cut the Cord – Before It’s Too Late

Any experienced skydiver will tell you that if you’ve got a malfunctioning main canopy you’ll have to “cut the cord,” releasing that chute to go to your reserve chute. Skydiving is life or death and you’ve got seconds to make your choice.

At least once a day I hear someone say, “When I lose that 10 pounds I’ll be happy” or “When I get one more attorney-client for my legal nurse consulting business I’ll be happy” or “I’ll be really happy when my husband finally cleans out the garage.” Seeking happiness or anything else we desire outside of where we are now, or making our happiness dependent upon some extraordinary incident occurring, pins those expectations on the future.
