Nothing Travels Faster Than the Speed of Light, or Does It?

I don’t like the word “hate,” but I’m about to use it… I hate gossip. If you want to be successful as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, never, and I repeat, never gossip about an attorney or another legal nurse consultant.

RNs – Don’t Look Where You Don’t Want to Go

Mountain bikers are taught “don’t look where you don’t want to go.” I’m not crazy enough to be a mountain biker and I’m not even a great biker. But, I have biked up and down some pretty challenging heights in Japan, Morocco and New Zealand. Also, after riding 23 miles down the Haleakala volcano in Hawaii and over the Hải Vân Pass in Vietnam, I can say first-hand that “don’t look where you don’t want to go” is very good advice.

Every Day Can Be Thanksgiving for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

Thanksgiving is a special day that I try to celebrate 365 days a year. Every night before we go to sleep, Tom and I say one nice thing about each other. It’s a tradition we have carried out our entire married life. I will admit that some days it’s easy and other days it’s easier. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. This tradition reminds us of the blessings we have in each other, in our friends, family and in all of the Certified Legal Nurse Consultants we love. That one tradition guarantees that we almost always end our day on a happy and grateful note.

Are You Living a Life of Meaning, or Just Meaning to?

I tend to resist reading books about dying people. I’m also a sucker for bestsellers and that’s the reason the book “Tuesdays with Morrie” by Mitch Albon sat in my library for years. I just recently pulled it down and was soon entranced by Mitch’s story about the time he spent with one of his college professors, Morrie Schwartz, who was dying from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). I found the life lessons Morrie passed onto Mitch humorous, touching and many to be downright thought-provoking. In his last days, this dying man was more alive than most of us will ever be.

Give and You Shall Receive

I just got home from the last CLNC® 6-Day Certification Seminar of the year. What a phenomenal time! I don’t like to vote for “best class ever,” but if I did, that Vegas group might win the prize. I was having so much fun I stayed over for the NACLNC® 2-Day Apprenticeship too. On the last day of the Apprenticeship, I decided to give away all of the CLNC® T-shirts, baseball shirts, hoodies, caps and every last bit of CLNC® Wear we brought with us.

Who Are You Really?

I’m wired for action, and I want you, as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, to be wired for action too. But before you take action, you have to understand that action is most relevant and will serve you best when you know yourself.

Whether You’re 4 or 40, Every Day Should Be Independence Day!

I have a 4 ½-year-old great-niece Reese. She’s really a great niece and has boundless energy. She also has a fierce, very strong independent streak. As long as we’ve played together, if I try to help her with something she’ll firmly tell me, “No Vickie. I’ll do it.”
