Give and You Shall Receive

I just got home from the last CLNC® 6-Day Certification Seminar of the year. What a phenomenal time! I don’t like to vote for “best class ever,” but if I did, that Vegas group might win the prize. I was having so much fun I stayed over for the NACLNC® 2-Day Apprenticeship too. On the last day of the Apprenticeship, I decided to give away all of the CLNC T-shirts, baseball shirts, hoodies, caps and every last bit of CLNC Wear we brought with us.

You would have thought it was Black Friday – LOL! The students swarmed the tables and clothing was flying everywhere. Even the men were carrying away piles of pink and green clothing. Everyone was laughing, trying on clothes and just having fun. Within minutes the tables were bare and students were back in their seats.

Later, I was touched when one of the future Certified Legal Nurse Consultants shared with me, “Just yesterday I did something for someone fully believing that blessings would come back to me ten-fold. And I didn’t even have to wait a day because here I am with not one, but five free CLNC shirts.”

The more we give, the more we receive. Sometimes we’ll give a T-shirt, other times our time or a piece of our souls. lt won’t always come back from the person we give to, but this is one thing I know for sure: The universe always provides abundance proportionate to what we put out, and the universe always surprises us in amazing ways.

The future CLNC consultant blessed me with her gratitude, and so today I just want to say thank you to all RNs and Certified Legal Nurse Consultants who bless my life in so many ways. You are truly magical.

I’m Just Grateful,

P.S. Comment and share times where you’ve given and been surprised by what you’ve unexpectantly received.

  1. I am not a CLNC® consultant, but Vickie shaped my life 30 years ago. I am an entrepreneur and love following her blog because it is applicable to other professions. One of my side businesses is to rent shipping containers for portable storage. When the West explosion hit in April, we made the decision to offer a certain number of units for free. We also made a decision to offer free delivery to anyone else affected by the blast. This was a $550 discount. It would take a 6-month rental just to recoup the cost of fuel to make the delivery and pickup of each unit. At the time, it just seemed like the right decision because people needed a place to put their things when their homes were being condemned. That business is only eight years old. For the first time ever, we are having inventory problems. I have everything rented out. Only 20% of my units are in West. We are buying units and growing, but wanting to grow at a steady rate. It is a great problem to have! Our business is blessed beyond measure right now. I really think it’s because we stepped outside of our comfort zone and helped our neighbors in need in a way that our company was poised to do.

  2. Kristi, you were a star even when you were a young girl! Your mom taught you that business is not just about making money. Like her, you are blessing so many with your generosity! She is truly smiling upon you. I love your family and look forward to the next “reunion.”

  3. I, like all CLNC® consultants, had that “special” patient during my active RN career. While in home health, I cared for a 42-year-old farmer who was dying from melanoma. He had a wife and four children, the youngest just 8 years of age. I did not recall doing anything for this patient and his family that I thought was above and beyond the call of duty during the short time I was involved in his care. However, after the passing of this gentleman, I received the nicest personal note of gratitude from his wife. The note contained details of specific actions I had performed that meant so much to her and her family. Although this incident occurred about 30 years ago, I have that kept that note tucked safely inside my jewelry box with all my other “valuables.”

  4. Vickie, thanks for sharing that story. I absolutely live by that principal and it works. Today my husband and I decided to give $20 to a well known TV ministry. Later in the afternoon, we went to Staples to pick up some office supplies for my business. We picked out a printer that was on sale for $119.00, however, while checking on the required ink we were offered another model which was supposed to be a display model, brand new, in the box for $17.00. You don’t have to ask which one we took. I said to my honey, look at God. It’s a principle I would encourage everyone to utilize. Not just for the return, but because it’s the right thing to do. It always come back multiplied. Love you, Vickie.
