Cirque du Soleil’s Art of Misdirection Works with Attorneys Too!

I love Cirque du Soleil and see every new show that I can, sometimes even more than once. They combine dance, acrobatics, visuals and just good old-fashioned daring into an immersive experience (and they’ve got funny clowns). If you’re attending one of my CLNC® 6-Day Certification Seminars in Orlando or Las Vegas, treat yourself to a show after the CLNC Certification Exam on Saturday – you deserve it and you’ll love it.

3 Steps to Get the Attorney’s Attention Every Time

Have you ever wondered how some people can speak brilliantly on a topic right off the cuff? You’re riveted by their every word. Professional speakers, especially, have the ability to make extemporaneous statements sound like polished presentations.

Pro Bono Consulting for Beginning Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

Pro bono means “done without compensation for the public good” – in other words, providing services free to a worthy cause. Pro bono work in the legal arena means donating your time and your CLNC services to attorneys who themselves work free on behalf of the poor, the underprivileged or for a special cause. Most pro bono cases are handled through nonprofit organizations.

Deadlines Can Be Deadly for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

Deadlines can become a double-edged sword for CLNC consultants. On one hand, a generous deadline creates the space for you to produce your highest quality work product. Likewise, a short deadline trains you to be efficient and helps you learn how to create work product that is cost-effective and “good enough.”

Tom's Tech Tips

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Mailed, Faxed or Scanned – What’s the Difference to a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant?

A fervent, or perhaps feral, reader recently asked me whether contracts with her attorney-clients that have “facsimile signatures” or are “facsimile contracts” are valid. A “facsimile signature” was originally a signature that was stamped or applied by mechanical means other than a handwritten signature. In the good ‘ole days you signed two copies of your contract and then mailed, FedExed or presented those copies to the other side who then signed them both, by hand or by stamp, and returned one fully executed copy to you by mail, FedEx or personal delivery.
