Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Word 2007 Timesavers and Fun Tips for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

I’ve slowly grown accustomed to Word 2007 and all its petty quirks and timesaving features that don’t save you any time. One of my chief complaints about the latest iteration of Word is that annoying little “Mini Toolbar” that pops up any time you highlight some text. You know the one I mean – it gives you a font choice, size, color, indentation, etc. Any legal nurse consultant will tell you that whenever you highlight text to copy or drag, the Mini Toolbar will absolutely, positively appear right over the very spot you need to grab that text to drag it and drop it.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: How Do I Dispose of Legal Nurse Consulting Files on My Old Computer Now That I Have a MacBook Pro?

Three weeks ago I bought and installed a larger, faster hard (disk) drive for my laptop. The old drive sat safely locked in a desk drawer waiting for disposal, until last Friday. That evening I took it home and hammered it to death in the street while one of the neighbor’s kids watched.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Nix Windows XP Indexing to Speed Up Your Computer for Your Legal Nurse Consulting Business

Windows XP comes with a nifty indexing service that was designed to help speed up your searches for documents, folders and other files. Unfortunately it doesn’t work as well or as fast as it was designed. It actually slows your computer’s performance. Microsoft fixed the issue in Windows Vista but for those Certified Legal Nurse Consultants and people like me who are still using XP, you’ll have to take matters into your own hands to nix the index.

Certified Legal Nurse Consultants using Windows XP have long envied that cool rotating menu the Mac OS X Dock has, that floats around the bottom or top of the Mac screen and fans out your icons. Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Laptop Batteries Can Power Up Your Legal Nurse Consulting Business

A couple of months ago I jumped on an airplane to Las Vegas for the Institute’s CLNC Certification Program. I normally work on flights. I carry my own water, jack my iPod Classic into my Bose sound-reducing headphones and crank up Prince. I’m so self-contained that the only thing that can ruin my flight is when the guy in front of me leans his seat back into my lap so he can sleep.
