Fear is not real. If fear was real, we’d all have the same precise fear response to the same stimuli. Instead, we create our own individual fears and our own individual responses. Remember how you used to be afraid of doctors and now you know what a real joke that unreal response was?
All Certified Legal Nurse Consultants will want to read this new study from Johns Hopkins University. This study tellingly proves that new doctors have poor doctor/patient etiquette. I’ve already blogged about how little time doctors spend with patients. But the problem with the physician/patient relationship is even worse than I imagined.
Many of my CLNC amigos are familiar with mobile banking. Some Certified Legal Nurse Consultants pay their bills from home using their smartphones or home computers. If you’re a truly savvy CLNC consultant you may already be using a mobile banking app like this one from Chase to deposit checks into your account without going to the bank. If you’re not, it’s time to get on the bandwagon and get back to the future.
A Certified Legal Nurse Consultant recently shared that she cut back on processed carbs to lose weight and was pleasantly surprised to find how much sharper her mind was. Suddenly that complex medical malpractice case wasn’t so complex after all. Her memory and recall for the facts in a large volume of cases are heightened. And best of all, she no longer has afternoon slumps. Oh yes – the money she’s saving on Einstein’s bagels and Jimmy John’s sandwiches are putting some extra cash in her pocket too.
I just got home from the last CLNC® 6-Day Certification Seminar of the year. What a phenomenal time! I don’t like to vote for “best class ever,” but if I did, that Vegas group might win the prize. I was having so much fun I stayed over for the NACLNC® 2-Day Apprenticeship too. On the last day of the Apprenticeship, I decided to give away all of the CLNC® T-shirts, baseball shirts, hoodies, caps and every last bit of CLNC® Wear we brought with us.
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because it’s simple and uncomplicated. Of course I also love seeing the young children in costume and their innocence when they come to our door to collect their treats. Some of these trick-or-treaters are shy, some brave, some greedy and most are polite. One year, instead of candy, we gave out koosh balls – you would have thought it was Christmas!
“It’s not what you make of the world, it’s what you make of yourself that’s important” is one of the ways I want to be remembered. That’s a truly profound way of living. We’re surrounded by constant opportunities for trying to make sense of the world, but at the end of the day, do we really want to be remembered by what we think about Nancy Grace or the last Twitter® distraction?
I love writing what I call the “4-Ts,” Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tips, and I’ve tried to cover a variety of subjects to help you with your legal nurse consulting businesses and technology. Doctors are starting to recognize that smartphones can lead to negligence issues in healthcare beyond the issue of distracted doctoring, e.g., surgeons with smartphones in hand.
Every Certified Legal Nurse Consultant knows that customary practice can actually be negligent practice. It turns out that nothing is more evident of customary, negligent practice than medically unnecessary C-sections (also known as “early elective delivery”).
