Web “2.0” – Social Bookmarking and more…

Welcome to “Web 2.0” with its completely new terminology for the blogosphere. But don’t be scared, I’m here to help you master the art of Web 2.0’s social bookmarking and get you hip.

Check This Out…I’m a Cartoon!

We posted the 2009 NACLNC Conference opening video on YouTube…and it’s a RIOT!

My designers turned me into an animated cartoon character getting ready for, and going to the NACLNC Conference.

Tom’s Tech Tips

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Free-Range Wireless

Let’s face it. Connectivity is king. The more we complain about getting away from things, the more we need to be connected whenever we get away. BlackBerries® and iPhones® have made being on the road a little more bearable. But we do need more than just email when we’re out of the office. Sure, those lucky legal nurse consultants who are iPhone users can surf the web, watch YouTube and listen to music, but for the legal nurse consulting “crackberry” users out there – we need the Internet and we need it fast!

Customer Service Rants and Raves

I just got home from the Great Christmas Migration of 2008. Tom and I are bicoastal. His family is in Pennsylvania and mine is in San Diego. Both demand our presence (and presents) at Christmas. This gives us plenty of chances to enjoy the fun of air travel and to meet interesting and helpful people along the way. This year instead of emulating the executives from the auto industry we decided to forgo taking the VMI company jet (Southwest, in our case), and instead flew our various journeys on the same mainstream airline.

Happy New Year

I hope your 2009 is a great year filled with people who appreciate you and love you. I wish you huge doses of happiness and prosperity.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Dragon Naturally Speaking

Even techies make New Year’s Resolutions and promises to themselves. Some even involve important things. My #1 resolution for 2009 – Install and learn Dragon NaturallySpeaking software (the cheap $59 Standard Edition). I’ve talked to way too many people who love this software to keep ignoring it. If you’re like me and can think faster than you can type, this is a tool to try.

5 Reasons Recession Is Best

Recession. Market downturn. Doom. Gloom. Nurses getting laid off in great numbers. In spite of all the negative headlines out there, according to the experts, a recession is actually your ticket to success as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. That’s right – kicking your legal nurse consulting business into high gear during a recession is a great idea.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! I wish for each of you to receive the glorious gifts of the season – Peace, Joy and Lasting Happiness. My special regard and gratitude to all nurses and Certified Legal Nurse Consultants.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Extend Yourself with a Hub

I’m a mobile user. I make no pains to hide it from you. Give me a laptop, a spare battery and a wireless connection, and I’m happy no matter where I am. Vickie often jokes that if there was a disaster, I’d grab my laptop before her – she’s not far from the truth (she’ll never forget my actions during the great condo fire of ’88).

Emergency Departments Are Failing the American Public

Having just been in the ED for 6 hours with a friend, I witnessed firsthand the secondhand, substandard grade the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) has given to the state of emergency care in the U.S.
