Happy Independence Day to All Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

Independence Day means different things to different people. For some people it represents the traditional July 4th American Independence Day. I am privileged to have traveled all over the world and have visited many amazing places. But one thing I am grateful for each and every day is that I am an American.

Independence Day can also be about a day that you discovered your newfound independence: the day you went full-time as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant and left the hospital behind. Or the day you left a toxic relationship. Or the day you discovered you could make it to the peak of the mountain.

Happy Independence Day – wherever you are in America and wherever you are in your personal quest for independence.

Success Is Inside!

P.S. Comment and share your personal quest(s) for independence.

Dad, You Were the Greatest

My dad, Sal made his transition at age 88 on Wednesday. He was blessed to be surrounded by his beloved family for the 8 days of transition and it was a blessing and a gift for us to be with him as well.

You Can Take Them Out – But You Better Dress Them Up First

I attended a business function for one of our vendors and the dress code was “business casual,” a variable term here in Houston. The owner of the company who was sponsoring the event was there with his wife – both dressed in “Neiman’s casual.” Several employees of the company were also there, dressed in “Nordstrom’s casual.” About the middle of the evening, the son of the owner, who also works for the company and will probably one day own it, turned up in “college casual.” You can guess what that looked like.

Are You Singing the W-2 Blues?

Are You Singing the W-2 Blues?

April 15th is just around the corner and for many nurses tax season serves as a rude awakening. This time every year we’re forced to run the numbers and take a long, hard look at our true financial picture. Unfortunately for many of us, the end result is always the same: we pony up to Uncle Sam and then push everything our tax forms revealed to us to the back of our minds… until next year. Maybe it’s time to ask these four questions instead:

The End is Just the Beginning

I’m deep into the Spring/Summer CLNC® Certification Seminar season and working with students in person is always one of my favorite things to do as owner of LegalNurse.com. It’s so much fun to observe how students come in excited but nervous, especially about the CLNC® Examination, then walk out on Day 6 proud of their accomplishments.

What Did You Do Today?

The desire to succeed in anything – whether it’s losing 10 lbs or growing a CLNC® business – is important to success. After all, every success story begins with a dream, desire or vision. But even more important than the dream is the will to prepare to succeed.
