Kick Off a Resource Exchange with Your Certified Legal Nurse Consultant Peers

The term “strength in numbers” is never more true than when you’re promoting your legal nurse consulting business. Yet I am often surprised how little this not-so-secret strategy is utilized.

Networking with other Certified Legal Nurse Consultants opens up opportunities for mutual support, information exchange and promotion. Stay connected with your CLNC peers. Build strong relationships and trade website links, exhibit displays and ideas with the Certified Legal Nurse Consultants in your CLNC® alliance.

Connect with five to eight CLNC consultants from different geographical areas and with different specialties. This is ideal for genuine collaboration. Everyone benefits. As Suzanne Arragg, RN, BSN, CDONA/LTC, CLNC suggests, “Many times I have received cases from my CLNC colleagues who were too busy to work on a case or who needed my particular expertise.”

By engaging your CLNC colleagues, you benefit from their experience. You also position your nursing and legal nursing expertise for their use when they’re working a case or fulfilling an attorney-client’s need. This awareness and alliance building contributes to the advancement of the CLNC profession, not just your CLNC business.

Attend the NACLNC® Conferences and connect in person with your CLNC alliance. Set aside time following the day’s conference events for a group update.

“I have begun to develop a strong networking base, which is like a breath of fresh air. Left to my own devices, I tend to stagnate. Now I can get together with one or three or eight or however-many nurses. We exchange ideas, and the juice starts flowing and things fall into place. I can pick up the phone and catch up with nurses I saw at the NACLNC Conference. I can say, ‘Here’s a scenario. What do you think?’ We challenge each other. Getting that energy charge helps me no longer feel so isolated. I do a lot of networking and see my business expanding because of it.”

– Linda M. Dessommes, RN, BSN, CLCP, CLNC

Put strength in numbers to use for your legal nurse consulting business and watch your CLNC career soar.
