How to Work Less While Earning More as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant

If you could work fewer hours as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant while earning more, would you? The business tip I share here grows out of my all-time favorite mentoring situation.

When a CLNC® consultant contacts me at LegalNurse.com for mentoring and says, “Help! I don’t know what to do. I’m so overwhelmed with my attorney-clients and caseload!” My response, “Being overwhelmed is an opportunity, not a problem.” I can almost always guarantee a moment of silence while the CLNC consultant contemplates what I just said. Then I jump in and advise, “This is actually the perfect time to be bold and increase your fees with all new attorney-clients. For example, if you are charging current attorney-clients $150/hr for your CLNC services, I recommend you charge all new attorney-clients $175/hr.”

Raising your legal nurse consulting fees with new attorney-clients is the ideal opportunity to work less, while earning more. Unless of course this strategy leads to more and more business, in which case it’s time to start subcontracting (if you haven’t already)!

P.S. Comment and share if you would like to work less while earning more as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.

  1. Perfect timing to increase my fees. I was cleaning my office and noticed my old forms need updating with the increased fees, i.e., contracts, invoices etc… I was just thinking, “I need to increase my fees, but how much?”

Yes, I would be happy to increase my fees and work less hours. After all, I live in a remote area and they need me.
