Let’s All Celebrate National Nurses Week Together!

This week we celebrate and recognize nurses of every nursing specialty, job description and nationality. We do so knowing that registered nurses are called to almost every job we can imagine. RNs hold nursing jobs in insurance companies, hospitals, clinics, offices, foreign aid, fitness, wellness, prisons and as Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, just to name a few. And then there are our family and friends to whom we’re often both RN and physician.

Registered nurses serve under all sorts of risky conditions and are exposed to everything from diseases such as Ebola to dangerous military situations. The RNs I’ve been blessed to know are selfless, frequently putting the patient’s welfare before their own.

I took this photo at the Vietnam Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. This memorial is dedicated to the 265,000 women who served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. Of the eight women’s names carved into the Vietnam Memorial Wall, all are nurses.

While we don’t have a national nurses’ memorial (long overdue), this week all Certified Legal Nurse Consultants and registered nurses can join together in celebrating all nurses, past, present and future. The diversity of registered nurses is what makes us strong and with more than 3,100,000 registered nurses in the United States, we have a lot to celebrate. I guess that’s why we get a whole week!

Happy Nurses Week!

P.S. Comment and share your wishes for National Nurses Week.

  1. Happy Nurses Week to you Vickie, and to all the nurses in the world. Very well put. Yes, nurses are everywhere. One place I know we could also do very well is in the acting and music industry. I think nurses are very talented as artists and could practically be a reality show needing no scripting. Enjoy the week. Happy nurses week to all CLNC® consultants.

    1. Lucy, what a concept about nurses doing well in the acting and music industry. Over the years, many times I sang to soothe patients.

As a CLNC® consultant we do acting to show confidence to attorneys even though we could be shaking in our boots.

      Happy Nurses Week everyone!
