Certified Legal Nurse Consultant Annette Powers-Kilburn, RN, MAOM, CLNC shares her legal nurse consulting success with exhibiting at the bar association conferences. When starting her legal nurse consulting business, Annette found that the easiest way to talk to attorneys was to meet them where they meet professionally. In this video Annette shares how every time she exhibits at her state’s bar association legal conferences she comes home with new medical-related cases from the attorneys she meets.
At her most recent exhibit Annette was thrilled to watch an attorney march across the exhibit hall, walk up to her and exclaim, “I need you to look at a case. The legal nurse consultant I hired (not a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant) hasn’t talked to me in six weeks. I have a deadline. I’m going to fire her today and hire you!” That attorney is now her most profitable attorney-client and continues to refer her to his attorney-colleagues.

Congratulations! That is a great achievement from exhibiting. Exhibiting to me is what I describe as a good shot to the arm of progress as a CLNC® consultant. You are right about what you say… to meet with attorneys where they meet is the best strategy Vickie advises to do.
Not only that, it is fun and builds confidence. I will be exhibiting next month and I’m excited about it. I exhibited last year and got a return on investment and then some!
