Thoughts for Success: What’s NEXT Is What’s NOW

Whether it’s a national news anchor, print reporter or radio personality interviewing me or simply a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant who has a prurient interest in my success, I’m often asked “Vickie, what’s NEXT?” That question has got to be one of the top 10 least favorite questions people ask me.

Tom’s Tech Tip: Two Easy MS Word Keyboard Shortcuts for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

At the CLNC Certification Seminar while discussing Microsoft® Word with a group of future Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, the conversation came around to highlighting and deleting (or moving) a sentence or paragraph in a document such as a legal nurse consulting case report. I asked the group how they cut and pasted the text and received the expected answer. “I take my mouse in hand, highlight the text and then click on the Scissors icon and then the Paste icon.”

Tom’s Tech Tip: 3 File-Naming Best Practices for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

Today’s Tech Tip was suggested by one of our staff who, coincidentally, also does a lot of tech support. It comes from an issue that we face here at LegalNurse.com and that is naming myriad documents we create and store on a daily basis. When you’re trying to quickly locate a document that’s buried in the subfolder of a secondary subfolder of a tertiary subdirectory of a departmental master directory, it can be pretty difficult if that document isn’t named and filed correctly.

Let’s All Celebrate National Nurses Week Together!

This week we celebrate and recognize nurses of every nursing specialty, job description and nationality. We do so knowing that registered nurses are called to almost every job we can imagine. RNs hold nursing jobs in insurance companies, hospitals, clinics, offices, foreign aid, fitness, wellness, prisons and as Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, just to name a few. And then there are our family and friends to whom we’re often both RN and physician.

Thoughts for Success: I Don’t Want to Be Realistic – I Want to Be the Real Me!

How many times in your life has someone told you to, “Be realistic?” Whatever the number, even just one time is one time too many. Whether it’s thinking you can get everything packed in that one, small suitcase 🙂 , or that you’ll get way more done in the day than is possible for three Certified Legal Nurse Consultants or that you’re going to achieve that impossibly audacious goal – the most common refrain you’re likely to hear from the naysayers is “get real” or “be realistic.”
