We get out of our world not only what we put into it, but also what we expect to get. This is especially true when you consider that we have the ability to shape not only our world but, to some extent, the people we share it with.
The Rolling Stones put this pretty succinctly when they said, “Hey! You! Get off of my cloud.” We have the choice to remove ourselves from the Debbie Downers, Connie Complainers and Ellen Hypochondriacs and create a more positive space. Sure, we don’t always control who we work with, but we don’t have to suffer fools (or downers) gladly. Don’t give them any space for their negativity on your precious cloud. They can only bring you down if you let them. Instead fill your cloud with the people who uplift you and make you feel happy to be around.
Take a moment today to picture your cloud and the people you want to invite to it. Then, the next time someone tries to drag you down, invoke your inner Mick Jagger and say, Hey! You! Get off of my cloud.
Success Is Yours!
P.S. Comment and share how you keep the right people on your cloud.
