3 Ways You Should Be Investing in Yourself

Charlie Chaplin once entered a Charlie Chaplin look-a-like contest under an assumed name and didn’t even make the finals. How could that possibly happen? He was Charlie Chaplin! Because no one expected Charlie Chaplin to enter a look-a-like contest for himself. The reality – we see what we want to see and what we expect to see. The lesson – we can’t always trust our own perceptions.

95% of our experiences of people and our world are the result of our beliefs, biases and past experiences. The most important way you can invest in yourself is to expand your perceptions of both yourself and others. Successful Certified Legal Nurse Consultants who play big aren’t limited by limiting beliefs.

Here are 3 ways to invest in you and your perceptions.

  1. Invest In Your Thoughts. Every thought you have contributes to the world you see. Pay attention to how just a single thought is contributing to you, your life and your CLNC® business. Do your thoughts create fear or inspire courage to go all the way for what you want? Are your thoughts derailing your productivity or enhancing it?
  2. Invest in Detaching. Ignore the naysayers. Unhappy people will find all kinds of creative ways to make you see the world as a stingy place and the myriad success opportunities it presents as only available to a special few. Don’t let their perceptions become yours. While you can’t always eliminate every negative person from your life, you can detach emotionally from them. The health of your perceptions depend upon it.
  3. Invest in People Who Promote Abundance Perceptions in You. I have five women friends who want nothing from me except the gift of my return friendship. I look to them when I bump up against a naysayer. There are plenty of positive people out there just waiting to support you and your dreams. Let them in and they will transform your view of the world into a safe and abundant place. They also help you with investment strategies #1 and #2.

If the world you see is not letting you into the world of happiness and success in your legal nurse consulting business, stop trying to change the world and change your perceptions instead. That investment will be much more than money in the bank!

I’m Just Sayin’

P.S. Comment and share how you invest in you and your perceptions.

P.P.S. History is mixed on whether or not the Charlie Chaplin story is true. Some people believe it’s true while others doubt it. That’s a perfect example of mixed perceptions. I like to believe it’s true. How about you?

  1. You said it all Vickie, my perception is to believe in what I can do first because no one else is going to do it for me. The naysayers do not have a clue about this business and I do not waste time on them. The CLNC® business is a worthwhile investment in me and my future.

Yes, I believe the Charlie Chapman story and saw this story not too long ago. Imagine him not winning his own competition, ha!

  2. So true…..begin each day with the person in the mirror. 86,400 seconds in a day. It’s up to you what to do with them. ….quote from Jim Valvano.
