Successful CLNC® consultants see opportunities where someone else might see only a problem. For example, one Certified Legal Nurse Consultant testifies for three law firms. They are so impressed with her that they want her and only her. She thinks she has a problem, while I see an opportunity.
My advice: “Continue to consult with your three attorney-clients and enjoy the guaranteed income. Expand to new attorneys emphasizing that you have a team of CLNC® subcontractors. You can even be bold about increasing your fee for new attorney-clients. Subcontracting is a great opportunity to work on your business, not just in your business. Leveraging the talents and experience of other CLNC® subcontractors is one of the smartest things you can do and you’re in a perfect position to do it.
Once you’ve established new attorney-client relationships, you’ll be in a stronger position to wean your existing attorney-clients off their dependency. You can be bolder about setting new ground rules for your legal nurse consulting business because you’ll feel less dependent on any one individual attorney-client.”
So much of your success is dependent on your mindset. Problem or opportunity? One of the problems of owning a CLNC® business is you’re going to have problems. Look deeper and you’ll see the opportunity in the problem. Now that’s a problem I like to have.
I’m just sayin’
P.S. Comment here and share how you’ve turned a potential problem into a profitable opportunity.
