I shudder to think about the RN I’d be today if I hadn’t left my RN job at the hospital in 1982. At that time I was working overtime to pay the mortgage on my 1,200 square foot condominium and knew I was way too mouthy and opinionated to last another 35 years in a draconian institutional setting.
We all know the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
