Legal Nurse Consultant Success Story

CLNC® Success Story: My CLNC® Success Includes the Freedom to Walk Away at 3:30pm

After working in a large clinic for 22 years, I retired. I was 48, my life was changing, my workplace was changing and I qualified for early retirement, so I took it. My family was growing up, and I began to wonder, “What am I going to do now?” Then I found LegalNurse.com’s LegalNurse.com website and became intrigued. I knew I had the experience as a nurse to become a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant – I decided to take the CLNC Certification Seminar. Vickie’s CLNC Certification Program is the key to my CLNC success.

It’s Easy to Be First as a Legal Nurse Consultant – Just Work Harder and Smarter Than Everyone Else

During my polar bear watching trip, one of the naturalists, Richard, was often one of the first to spot a polar bear. Now, if they’re sitting next to the ship or licking the bow that’s pretty easy, but Richard could spot an off-white bear in a white environment as far as 2½ miles away. Everyone was in awe of him. Plus, it wasn’t just polar bears that he’d spot. We’d be scanning the ice flows for anything that looked like it might be alive and when Richard would spot a bear he’d tell me something like, “It’s lying on its belly, off the bow at 2:00, about a mile out, just past the two ivory gulls and to the left of the walrus with the cavity in its left tusk.”

What Do Polar Bears Know About Renewal for Legal Nurse Consultants?

What Do Polar Bears Know About Renewal for Legal Nurse Consultants?

I just got back from an 18-day trip to Svalbard Island, deep in the Arctic Circle and halfway between Norway and the North Pole. We started in Copenhagen and finished in Oslo. The best part of the trip was spent spotting polar bears and other Arctic wildlife at Svalbard Island.

Are You Serving Meatball Sundaes to Your Attorney-Clients?

I’m not a pack-rat, but I’ll admit a couple of bookshelves in the business section of my “library” are a bit over-run by books I’ve read, plan to read and some books I will probably never read. The other day Tom was doing some unsolicited (and unwanted) Spring cleaning and ran across a book given to me by the marketing guru Seth Godin. Tom looked at the cover and asked me “Vickie, what the #&%* is a meatball sundae?” He held the book up and I laughed because it does indeed have a photograph of a pretty unappealing meatball sundae (as well as a funny shot of Seth in a chef’s cap).

Tom’s Tech Tips

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Nix Windows XP Indexing to Speed Up Your Computer for Your Legal Nurse Consulting Business

Windows XP comes with a nifty indexing service that was designed to help speed up your searches for documents, folders and other files. Unfortunately it doesn’t work as well or as fast as it was designed. It actually slows your computer’s performance. Microsoft fixed the issue in Windows Vista but for those Certified Legal Nurse Consultants and people like me who are still using XP, you’ll have to take matters into your own hands to nix the index.

Promise 3: I Will Take One Action Step a Day Toward Launching or Growing My CLNC® Business

Promise 3: I Will Take One Action Step a Day Toward Launching or Growing My CLNC® Business

When I decided to start my own business as a legal nurse consultant in 1982 I had a full time nursing job at the hospital, plus I was having to work a part-time job to pay my mortgage. How could I possibly realize my dream of starting a business? Through Promise 3. No matter how tired I was at the end of the day I would take at least one action step a day toward my legal nurse consulting business.
