In 1982 I started a legal nurse consulting business and then an education company – both at a time when RNs didn’t own businesses. I had to push through other people’s perceptions of what a nurse and a woman could do. It wasn’t easy, but I did it and here I am still standing, the fact which I consider to be my true success.
