Every Halloween I’m reminded of one of my deepest childhood fears. It’s not spiders, ghosts or ghouls. I doubt that you have the same fear I did, but maybe a different one is getting in the way of achieving your goals as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. It’s funny how we trick ourselves into believing that a fear is reality. This Halloween, try treating yourself by confronting your fear instead of letting it control you, and you just might get more of life’s candy that you desire.

I read your story “This I Believe,” and the timing could not have been better. I had done a few medical malpractice cases and then got a call to be a testifying expert on some elder abuse/hospice cases. I had finally become comfortable with the behind the scenes review of medical records, but not ready to be out front in depositions or as a testifying expert. After reading your story, I am ready to face my fear, and expand my CLNC® scope. I will make up a new fee schedule and send my resume. The rest is up to fate. Thank you for giving me courage to “just do it.”
