Relax Your Way to Success as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant

Relax Your Way to Success as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant

I’ve frequently mentored a new Certified Legal Nurse Consultant who is about to go on their first attorney interview. As an example, one CLNC® consultant emailed, “I have an appointment next Tuesday with one of the most prominent medical malpractice firms in the state. It’s with their lead attorney and he wants to speak with me about a case but he hasn’t actually given it to me yet. I have a few questions regarding this interview and I have to admit I am very nervous.”

Trick or Treat?

Every Halloween I’m reminded of one of my deepest childhood fears. It’s not spiders, ghosts or ghouls. Click here for my story on National Public Radio’s “This I Believe” if you’d like to know what that fear was and how I overcame it. I doubt that you have the same fear I did, but maybe a different one is getting in the way of achieving your goals as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. Are there any tricks your mind plays on you that keeps you from the treats you want?

I Don’t Want to Peak – Ever!

It’s a new year and I am reminded of a line from Sex and the City: “You don’t want to peak in high school.” Life and career are so much more interesting and satisfying when you constantly strive for your next peak. While most of your friends, family and coworkers have moved far past high school, you probably know someone who is still living, or constantly reliving, a “glory day” of scoring a winning point in a sports event, nailing a promotion or getting the biggest law firm in the city as a client for her CLNC® business.
