Tom’s Tech Tip: Two Easy MS Word Keyboard Shortcuts for Certified Legal Nurse Consultants

At the CLNC Certification Seminar while discussing Microsoft® Word with a group of future Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, the conversation came around to highlighting and deleting (or moving) a sentence or paragraph in a document such as a legal nurse consulting case report. I asked the group how they cut and pasted the text and received the expected answer. “I take my mouse in hand, highlight the text and then click on the Scissors icon and then the Paste icon.”

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Should I Put My Legal Nurse Consulting Computer to Sleep at Night or Let it Hibernate?

I was working out the other day and, in order to drive the pain as far from my consciousness as possible, my trainer and I were discussing some issues he was having with his Apple® laptop. Now, I don’t know much about Macs® and I didn’t sleep in a Holiday Inn Express Sunday night but I was more than willing to give him some free tech advice (and forestall any more sets of lunges).

Every Certified Legal Nurse Consultant who reads my Tech Tips knows I’m a keyboard guy and not a mouse guy. I’ve confessed this in the past. Every time a CLNC® consultant reaches for their mouse you may as well be reaching for a cup of healthy green tea for all the time it will save you. Those precious seconds off the keyboard are billable hours lost forever. End of story.

Tom’s Tuesday Tech Tip: Is Somebody Pushing Your Legal Nurse Consulting (Windows®) Button – Or Not?

I’m a keyboard guy. Mice are great but every time you take your hands off your keyboard to reach for your mouse, you lose precious seconds (and those build up into billable hours over the course of a year). I’d much rather make use of keyboard shortcuts than roll that mouse to delete something. The less time I spend with my hand on the mouse, the more time I have to spend typing tech tips, if you know what I mean.
