When was the last time you received a handwritten notecard in the mail? It’s been a while I bet. Email and texting have become acceptable as a format for saying thanks and even introducing yourself as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.
When was the last time you didn’t open a notecard? That’s right, we toss advertisements like Pottery Barn and other catalogs without looking at them (not Williams-Sonoma – I love looking at the food photos). Clear envelopes that are obviously selling something go into the recycle bin straight-away too, as does anything marked official, urgent or warranty warning.
But, we always open a notecard and Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, Jane Hurst, RN, CLNC shares a tip for ensuring yours gets past the legal secretary and opened by the intended attorney-prospect every time.
“Attorneys don’t go through their own mail. Their assistant opens and sorts it. A small, hand-addressed notecard usually won’t be opened by anyone else because it looks personal. That dramatically increases the odds the attorney will open and read your correspondence.”
Stop by a store like Papyrus and purchase a set of high-quality note cards. The higher quality the envelope, the more personal it will obviously appear when you introduce your CLNC® services to attorney-prospects the old-fashioned way.
