Is It Time to Deliver More Sack and Less Yack as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant?

Between mentoring Certified Legal Nurse Consultants and managing 23 employees, the expression “more sack, less yack” resonates with me. A CLNC® consultant I have mentored numerous times highlights the importance of knowing when it’s time to stop talking and time to get in motion and start doing. She is full of good intentions and plenty of ideas, but falls short in the execution department.

The real problem is not just that she talks incessantly, but that she has somehow convinced herself that all this talking to me, to herself and to who knows who else is productive.

If we’re honest with ourselves, even the most productive of us likes a little yack. Yes, it feels good – at least until we start to sabotage our relationships and our future.

What’s a yacker to do? Put a consciousness to the behavior. If more of your day is spent in thinking and talking about your legal nurse consulting business than executing on it, it’s time to stop it now. It’s time for more sack and less yack.

I’m just sayin’,

P.S. Comment and share whether you’re more yack or more sack.

  1. Definitely more sack. Doing one big thing each day helps me stay focused, motivated and positive and helps me to move toward my goals!
