When we meet or read about a successful person we’re often curious “What’s the big thing she did to succeed?” I was asked this very question by a national TV anchor and I really, really wanted to say something profound in response.
But something profound wouldn’t have been the truth. Instead I stated honestly, “I took a lot of small steps every day, day after day, to get where I am today.”
Consider any large project or goal you’ve accomplished in your RN job at the hospital or in your legal nurse consulting business. You probably didn’t get there through one large act; it took many small ones.
Successful Certified Legal Nurse Consultants accomplish big by a series of small acts. Let these words published in the 6th century BC remind you of what successful people have known for 2,615 years – to think of the small as large is the path to accomplishment.
“Act without doing;
work without effort.
Think of the small as large
and the few as many.
Confront the difficult
while it is still easy;
accomplish the great task
by a series of small acts.
The Master never reaches for the great;
thus she achieves greatness.
When she runs into a difficulty,
she stops and gives herself to it.
She doesn’t cling to her own comfort;
thus problems are no problem for her.”
Today, set your goal to accomplish big by a series of small acts. SMALL is the new LARGE.
I’m Just Sayin’
P.S. Comment and share how small acts have contributed to achieving big as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.
