CLNC® Success Story: Certified Legal Nurse Consultant Shares Success with Presenting to Trial Attorneys

I was asked to be the speaker at the February meeting for the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys. I arrived early to get prepared. Several people were late due to the weather. Only 10 attorneys braved the cold, rainy, snowy night to attend.

I began my presentation with information about legal nurse consulting, the CLNC® services I provide and my nursing expertise. After my presentation, they all took my contact information and brochure. Then, they spent a lot of time talking about their cases.

The next day I got a call from one of the attorneys who had attended. He was looking for a wound care specialist. The day after that I got a call from another attorney for a case review. The phone has not stopped ringing since that night and the referrals from these attorneys have also been great.

What I want Certified Legal Nurse Consultants to know is that no matter how small the crowd, it will pay off!

  1. Way to go Millie!!! You are a very successful and inspiring woman! I would come listen to you speak any time. Besides, I can understand your Boston accent!!

Sometimes we have to step out of the box to make it work. Good for you.

  2. Congrats to you! By the way, I enjoyed your session regarding Vascular Cases at the 2010 NACLNC® conference in Nashville.

  3. Very impressive Millie! Thanks for the encouragement! I just exhibited at an attorney conference in Steamboat Springs for the Colorado Family Law Institute. We had over 350 attorneys there. I had my table all set up nice with a wine basket for the giveaway and of course, candy! I remember distinctly at the 2009 NACLNC® Conference, Dorene Goldstein made a big “to do” about having candy on the table too! Of course, that was a great draw! I have at least 45 attorneys’ cards to follow up with now!

It was a great morale booster. Several attorneys discussed briefly some of their cases in general terms. I was very surprised most of them were friendly and down to earth and really interested in what we do!

My next goal is speaking in front of attorneys! I am utilizing Toastmasters and other tools to prepare. Most of all I am reviewing all my tools we were given in are intensive LegalNurse.com’s CLNC® Certification Program and also the invaluable CLNC® Mentors at LegalNurse.com! I have Vickie’s 5 Promises taped at my desk so I keep focused. Hopefully and prayerfully, “success” will be mine soon! Thanks to all the Certified Legal Nurse Consultants and LegalNurse.com staff for all your direction and encouragement!
