Whether we’re lifting weights in the gym or launching our legal nurse consulting business, it’s natural to desire immediate results from the efforts. Beverly Sills told it like it is however, when she proclaimed “There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”
Fortunately, when I started my legal nurse business in 1982, I wasn’t expecting shortcuts because no one had ever created a business out of consulting with attorneys before. And there was no legal nurse consultant training program or CLNC® Mentors to learn from.
While I had no shortcuts, I did have a clear vision of where I wanted to go with my new legal nurse business. I chose to create a new nursing career where I could achieve financial, emotional and intellectual payoff – a place where I was free to work as little, or as much, as I wanted. My path wasn’t always easy, but 34 years later I can say the trip, with all its twists and turns, was worth every moment.
It’s a challenge to diet and exercise when you don’t immediately see a new you in the mirror. Do it anyway. It’s a challenge to network and exhibit when you don’t get an attorney-client. Do it anyway.
In the CLNC Certification Program I’ve done all I can to get you started on the road to legal nurse consulting success. Even with the CLNC Mentoring available, you still have to take this amazing journey yourself. And on those days you’re wishing for shortcuts along the way, remember shortcuts are for dreamers, not achievers.
