It’s easy when we’re unhappy about an issue that is completely within our control to blame our unhappiness on someone else. But being a victim is rarely the path to success or happiness.
Negative energy is a positive force – a force that even the most successful Certified Legal Nurse Consultant can’t always avoid. We can, however, minimize negative energy’s impact by surrounding ourselves with positive people who are genuinely on our team.
If you’ve promised yourself that you are going to be more productive in 2015 than you were in 2014, here’s a tip: you will have to learn to say No.
TGIF? Yes? After all, today is not just any Friday, it’s the Friday after Christmas and for many of us that means a five day weekend. It doesn’t get much better than that!
People who fail or flail like to take as many others along for the ride as they can. It helps to justify their failures and it’s a lot less lonely that way. Don’t get sucked in.
Thanksgiving is a day of gratitude. Today, the so-called “Black Friday,” is a day of want. In happy people, gratitude seems to outweigh desire. For unhappy people, it’s about want, want, want, with little gratitude in return. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with desire. Desires fire your passionate vision. But gratitude must always be greater. Otherwise, you’re never satisfied, never happy.
There is no past. The past is over. There is no guarantee of a future. With no past and no future we only have now. So why not seize it?
Halloween always reminds me that I wouldn’t be a legal nurse consultant and where I am today if I had clung to one particular childhood fear. That fear came horrifyingly to life every Halloween. The best business advice I received when I started my legal nurse consulting business came from an unlikely source – my CPA. Fran, owner of an accounting firm, spoke from experience when she said, “Vickie, as a business owner you will encounter challenges and problems that you won’t know how to handle. Remember, though, there’s always someone who has already solved that very problem. Turn to them when you need help and you will be more successful than you can ever imagine.”
Society often concludes that experts are the people who have all the answers. I’ve been blessed to hang with some extremely successful people and here’s what I’ve learned. Contrary to popular belief, they don’t have all the answers, but they do ask the right questions.
