I’m off the ship and on my way to the first Starbucks I can find before boarding our flight home from the 2013 NACLNC Conference Cruise. This morning I had my healthy green tea, but what I really want, or is it need, is a steaming hot cup of coffee with two added shots of espresso.
This is it − the final day. It’s hard to believe the 2013 NACLNC Conference Cruise is almost over! The past 6 days went by so fast it feels like we just got onboard! Today is a total day of cruising and relaxation and believe me, we’ve all earned it!
Before I take up cruising as a lifestyle I need to contemplate the cost of a whole new wardrobe made up completely of expandable clothing. I think I’ve found every possible place to eat on the ship, and eaten there! What about you?
Today is our second and last classroom day. After our day on the beach and wild time on Jamaica we’ll move the fun back into the air conditioning and crank up the PowerPoint for another full day of great sessions from the CLNC Pros to look forward to before it all ends. I’ve heard great comments about Sunday’s sessions. When I edit the audio recordings I get to hear every speaker in their entirety and bask in their hard-earned success. Your CLNC Pro speakers work so hard all year long to deliver to you and they sure are! My deepest gratitude goes out to each and every one of you.
Today we’re docked in Falmouth, Jamaica. I’m in search of the tracks of Bob Marley for some serious reggae music. Courtesy of Tom, here are a couple of interesting historical notes: From the 1780s to the 1830s Falmouth was one of the island’s busiest ports and the heart of this sugar industry. 1838 saw the Emancipation of slavery in Jamaica, which changed the island forever.
Last night was formal night and everyone looked fabulous. It’s always fun to see all the men in tuxedos and women in formals. It was especially fun going to the theater all dressed up and then heading into the casino to invest some money. The good news is we’re all big winners just being onboard together.
Yesterday I got to participate in one of my favorite traditions, having a glass of champagne as the ship sails. After that I got to participate in more of my favorites, the NACLNC Welcome Reception, Networking dinner and NACLNC Pub Crawl. I’m sure the fresh sea air is doing us all good today.
Today’s the first official day of the NACLNC Conference Cruise aboard the Oasis of the Seas. The ship is even more fantastic than I remember.
