In nursing school I worked with heroin addicts – not exactly the most fun or inspiring bunch of people to be around. Not having an addictive personality myself, I couldn’t understand the forces that drove them. I wanted to tell them just because you’ve inserted the needle doesn’t mean you have to inject the heroin, but I knew it wouldn’t mean anything to them.
We had a shortened rodeo in Houston this year due to the coronavirus, but boy do these cowboys (and cowgirls) know how to ride. If you ever watch a real cowboy, other than how to look good in tight, boot-cut jeans, he’ll teach you a priceless lesson on how to ride your legal nurse consulting business.
At least once a day I hear someone say, “When I lose that 10 pounds I’ll be happy” or “When I get one more attorney-client for my legal nurse consulting business I’ll be happy” or “I’ll be really happy when my husband finally cleans out the garage.” Seeking happiness or anything else we desire outside of where we are now, or making our happiness dependent upon some extraordinary incident occurring, pins those expectations on the future.
Every CLNC consultant worries endlessly, and to some extent needlessly, about privacy. Without getting into a discussion, let’s talk first about the hippo in the room – HIPAA. It’s been said that law firms are not covered entities under HIPAA (hooray).
