Certified Legal Nurse Consultants Go Where the Attorneys Go

If you want to introduce yourself as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant to a lot of attorneys in a short period of time, consider going where they go. You might not get invited to their parties, but you can attend the conferences they attend. Check the legal conferences in your area that relate to your CLNC® business: medical malpractice, personal injury, products liability, toxic tort, workers’ compensation or criminal cases and sign up to exhibit.

Certified Legal Nurse Consultant Susan Schaab, RN, BSN, CLNC shares: “I attend the trial lawyers’ association seminars related to medical malpractice and personal injury cases. I have come home with a new attorney-client or case every time. Even better is the thrill I experience when one of my attorney-clients, who is a highly respected plaintiff-attorney, introduces me as his CLNC consultant!”

At the legal conference, make it your goal to network professionally and to talk to as many attorneys as possible. Soon the attorneys will be introducing you as their Certified Legal Nurse Consultant to all of their attorney peers.

A Not So Surprising Reason MDs Spend Less Time with Patients

A study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine determined that interns at two large academic medical facilities spent just 12% of their time in direct patient care – that is examining and interacting with patients. This is an average of just 8 minutes a day spent with each patient each day. Where do they spend the majority of their time? Mostly on indirect patient care:

Do You Need to Be Less of Yourself as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant?

I’m all for authenticity and I love that the 4,000 plus Certified Legal Nurse Consultants feel like they know me. I’m not one to be a fake nor do I trust people who are remote and untouchable. I also like being accessible to the CLNC® consultants I service. At the same time, I don’t believe in letting it all hang out either.

Ahoy! Thank you for making the 2013 National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants Conference Cruise such a success. I loved hearing how much you learned from our speakers and seeing you networking with fellow CLNC Weekenders. It was such a blast partying with a purpose all week long with you.

2013 NACLNC® Conference Cruise Update – Day 5: Back to the Conference Center for Some More Fun Learning!

Today is our second and last classroom day. After our day on the beach and wild time on Jamaica we’ll move the fun back into the air conditioning and crank up the PowerPoint for another full day of great sessions from the CLNC Pros to look forward to before it all ends. I’ve heard great comments about Sunday’s sessions. When I edit the audio recordings I get to hear every speaker in their entirety and bask in their hard-earned success. Your CLNC Pro speakers work so hard all year long to deliver to you and they sure are! My deepest gratitude goes out to each and every one of you.
