4 Ways Videoconferencing Can Grow Your Legal Nurse Consulting Business

Videoconferencing has been around for decades, but it was the COVID-19 pandemic that brought it into the homes of almost every American. The ease of Zoom took away the hassle factor that used to be associated with videoconferencing. Today most Certified Legal Nurse Consultants embrace videoconferencing as an effective tool for marketing to and doing business with attorneys.

Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, Robert Malaer, RN, MSN, FN-CSp., SANE-A, CNLCP, CALM, CLNC, states, “Prior to COVID-19, I regularly utilized videoconferencing to meet with attorney-clients. It was also helpful and cost-effective to interview the attorneys’ clients and their family members. Since COVID-19, video conferencing has been the primary way I meet with attorneys. It provides an opportunity for face-to-face interaction with attorneys outside of my geographic area. There is nothing more effective than the personal interaction with an attorney, whether in person or via videoconference.”

Here are 4 ways videoconferencing can grow your legal nurse consulting business:

  1. You can easily communicate with attorneys and CLNC® subcontractors without leaving the comfort of home. Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, Michelle Neal, RN, BSN, CLNC shares, “If there is one positive thing to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s the way in which we do business. Time is so valuable; it’s great to have a new approach to conducting business on a more personal level without having to travel.”
  2. Attorneys are often more receptive to a 15-minute Zoom meeting than having you come into the office. Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, Dorene Goldstein, RNC, BSN, CLNC shares, “I have used videoconferencing more in the past 18 months than I have in years. Getting appointments with attorney-prospects is easier. I find that they are more open to a 10-minute videoconference than they are to in-person meetings.”
  3. Videoconferencing creates a face-to-face connection you can’t accomplish over the phone or through email. Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, Abigail Stanley, RN, CLCP, MSCC, CLNC expresses, “Videoconferencing allows us to create an in-person feel without the need for traveling. Through videoconferencing I’ve networked with new attorneys and received new cases.”
  4. You can accomplish anything in a videoconference that you can accomplish in person. CLNC consultant, Michelle Neal affirms, “You have the ability to share your screen to show attorneys your case reports or medical records that need to be discussed. If you’re involved in a deposition or in an interview with one of your attorney’s clients, it’s a great way to assess nonverbal communication. With new attorney-prospects, you can get a better feel for the attorney’s personality. You have the ability to show sample cases or templates through screen sharing.”

Videoconferencing is just one more way you can extend the reach of your marketing efforts and gain new attorney-clients.
