Something I’ve always loved (and hated) about Mac® users is their innocence. I can’t tell you how many Certified Legal Nurse Consultant Mac users have told me that they love their Macs because they don’t have to worry about spyware, viruses, ransomware – all the things that wake me up screaming in the middle of the night because I’m a Windows® user.
Not to burst your bubble, but Macs are vulnerable to malware, viruses and just about every nasty bit out there. So, for any CLNC® consultant thinking about buying a Mac for their legal nurse consultant business I have two bits of free advice. First, go ahead and buy one. Macs are great computers and are pretty darn stylish to boot. Second, if you do buy one, get yourself the best anti-virus package you can afford. If you can’t afford one there are also free options available.
One of my favorite sources of information on all things Mac is MacWorld.com. They seem to have inside information on everything happening inside the Apple® world. Recently they updated an article on the “Best antivirus for Mac: Protect yourself from malicious software.”
If you’re a Mac user this is one of the most important things you’ll read this year (even more so than my Tech Tips). What you don’t know can hurt you – especially when it comes to malware, viruses and like. The author discusses and compares different packages so you’ll be able to find the best one for you. Take a few minutes and read the article then go out and get yourself some Mac antivirus. You’ll thank me later.
Keep on Techin’,
Tom
P.S. It’s not later yet, but you can still comment and tell me if your Mac has ever gotten an “infection” and what you did to clean it out.
