Are Your 2018 Legal Nurse Consulting Goals Wishes or Intentions?

Are Your 2018 Legal Nurse Consulting Goals Wishes or Intentions?

A Certified Legal Nurse Consultant mentioned that she was working on a 2018 “wish board” for her home office filled with photos of all the things she wished to attract and accomplish in 2018 for her legal nurse consulting business and life. She was filling her board with photos of medical malpractice attorneys, Tesla Roadsters and postcards of Bali.

While, there’s nothing wrong with wishing, it’s too much of a passive process for me. Wishing is what you do when you dream about winning the lottery. Intention is buying a lottery ticket (winning or not). Dreaming of enjoying the benefits and perks of a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant is wishing. Completing the CLNC® Certification Program to start enjoying those benefits and perks is an intention. Wishing for more attorney-clients is just that. Developing and acting on a 90-day marketing plan to get 3 new attorney-clients is an intention.

I encouraged the CLNC consultant to create a list of intentions (instead of wishes) with specific action steps for each. Here’s what I wish – that you’ll heed this mentoring advice given to a CLNC peer so that your 2018 will be overflowing with intention and action. That’s the only way I know how to make wishes come true.

Success Is Yours!

P.S. Comment and share whether your 2018 goals are wishes or intentions.

  1. To complete my studying for the CLNC® Certification Exam.
Attend the CLNC® 5-Day Certification Seminar in April.
    Pass the CLNC® Certification Exam.
    Start my new CLNC® business.

  2. My goals for 2018 are definitely intentions. I have 32 1/2 years of a nursing career behind me and even though I have not retired fully, I am hopeful for the time I can put long shifts and low pay behind me. I have just started the CLNC® Online Certification Program and have written my goals and business plan. I intend to give this business the same dedication I have given my nursing career, but know I will receive far more toward readying me for my retirement years.
