What’s expensive? That’s a question I’ve asked an RN (or two) who has expressed that starting a new career as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant is expensive. What’s expensive? Having worked with registered nurses for 33 years in the legal nurse consulting industry, I believe it’s expensive to stay in an RN job at the hospital that you don’t love. It’s expensive to underprice the value of who you are as a registered nurse. It’s expensive to short-change your education if you are serious about becoming a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. And it’s expensive to not invest in you and your future.
As Coco Chanel suggests, don’t settle for second best. Doing so may prove to be very expensive for your life as well as your nursing career.

P.S. Comment here to share things you thought were expensive on first glimpse but proved to be worth your investment.
Starting as a CLNC® consultant is not only a new career but also a business. As a nurse, we have to think differently about money and how to run a business. Any new business is expensive and can be in the quarter million mark or more to start and much more to keep operating. I found the trademark LegalNurse.com’s CLNC® consulting business very reasonable, especially for the VIP program, because we get everything to arm us for success.
The naysayers proliferate the internet and all around us. My own experience is enjoying the fruits of my labor and proving them wrong. Before I started, my path was getting depressing and expensive looking for the right job. It is nice to feel valued by attorney-clients.
Blessings to you and this inspirational quote.
