2015 NACLNC® Conference Cruise Update – Day 3: Basseterre, St. Kitts

This day is sparkling and it’s my first visit to what is officially known as the “Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis,” a two-island country and part of the Leeward Islands. I love trees and in the historic Romney Manor’s gardens there is an African Saman tree which is supposed to be 24 feet in diameter, cover half an acre and is 350-years-old. You don’t see that every day back home on the mainland.

If you’re not ready to spend another beautiful day relaxing on the beach there are all sorts of other things to do and sights to see in St. Kitts. First, there’s the Fairview Great House and Botanical Garden and next the Brimstone Hill Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the fortress it’s all downhill, (literally) for some of the Creole, Indian and French influenced foods for lunch. The day is ours. Our only obligation besides having fun is to be back on board for our NACLNC Networking Dinner.

Tomorrow is our first day of classes with this year’s stellar NACLNC Conference Curriculum and some of the most successful Certified Legal Nurse Consultants in the industry. My opening session, 10 Game-Changing Questions Every Certified Legal Nurse Consultant Must Ask starts promptly at 10:00am in the Lyric Theater. Our first production call is 5:30am so I’m planning to make it an early night. Don’t look for me in the dining room tonight. LOL!

Have an amazing and rejuvenating day. See you in St. Kitts!

I’m Just Sayin’

P.S. Comment and share your experiences on St. Kitts.

  1. Hi Vickie, It’s Judy McClary in Puerto Rico. Sorry I couldn’t make the cruise this year, but we just moved into our new house December 23rd and we are still unpacking boxes. I was hoping to meet up with you in San Juan to say Hi but time got away from me. We love it here. I’ve almost got my office set up and the house is beginning to look like a home. We are in Aguadilla which is on the other side of the island from San Juan. Our house is only 1 mile from the ocean and you can see the ocean from our second floor balcony. We have 2 apts. upstairs that we are planning to rent out to vacationers. However, friends and family will stay free. I hope you and Tom can come and stay with us one week. I’ll let you know when they are ready. Well, have fun and I hope to see you soon! Love, Judy

  2. We spent half the day at the beach on the southern end of the island (I can’t remember the name of it, conch something), came back and did some shopping. Great day! The water is aqua blue, so beautiful! Mongoose and monkeys running around, wonderful.
