Here we are in the duty-free shopping capital of the world. Luckily, the streets of St. Thomas are a whole lot safer for duty-free shoppers than they were in the 18th century when fearsome pirates like Blackbeard roamed the streets. Today, instead of pirates, the streets are loaded with Certified Legal Nurse Consultants looking to bring home a bargain.
I’m not sure which are more fearsome — LOL! With a duty-free limit of $1,200 (twice that of most of the Caribbean), I’m sure we’ll see some nurses toting large shopping bags back onto the Adventure before we set sail at 8:30pm tonight.
Tom and I are planning to relax at Magens Bay, rumored to be home to one of the most beautiful nude beaches in the world. After a day of relaxing at the beach, I hope to have the energy to get dressed up for formal night tonight.
I’m excited to get to see all the CLNC® consultants and cabin-mates decked out. I’m hoping nobody overdid it on the beach, but if anyone looks a little, shall we say “over-tanned,” I’m sure the ship will be happy to recommend a liberal dosing of body lotion.
After dinner it’s off to the ship’s casino or maybe a romantic stroll in the moonlight. I might even invite Tom to tag along.
Tomorrow we’re off to Basseterre, St. Kitts and its golden sand beaches. This will be my first visit to St. Kitts. I’ve read that the heart of Charlestown in Basseterre is modeled after London’s Piccadilly Circus and I’m very excited to see it.
I’m Just Relaxin’
P.S. See you bargain-hunting or on the beach!
P.P.S. Comment and let your CLNC peers know they’re in your thoughts!
