My last few Tech Tips have been Microsoft® Word-related but I think I’ll take a holiday from Word today and tell my CLNC® amigos how to add holidays to their Microsoft Outlook and Google® calendars.
Holidays are important to Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, not just because banks are closed but so that you remember to send out cards, gifts and take the day off. No matter what holidays you celebrate (Festivus springs to mind), Outlook has you covered and depending on your version of Outlook, it’s pretty easy to add holidays to your legal nurse consulting calendar.
Follow these steps if you’re using Outlook 2007 or earlier:
- Open your Outlook calendar.
- Click Tools.
- Click Options and then Calendar Options.
- Click Add Holidays and select the holiday group or option that works best for you.
If you are using Outlook 2010 or later, it’s slightly more complex but just as easy.
- Start by clicking File, Options and then Calendar to get to this screen:
- Next, click Add Holidays and select your holiday group.
- Click OK until you work your way back out and you’ve done it!
Now you’ll never miss a holiday again.
If you’re a CLNC consultant who is using Google calendars instead of Outlook, you can also add your important holidays.
- Open up your Gmail account and go to your calendar.
- Look for a drop-down menu in the left-hand column and click Other calendars.
- Select Browse Interesting Calendars and choose the Holidays tab to see all the different holidays that are available. You can preview different calendars and add them from there.
Now you’ll never miss another important holiday!
Keep on Techin’,
Tom
P.S. Comment here and share your favorite holiday and why it’s your favorite.
