Hi Vickie:

Just so you don't feel like you were the last one to see Avatar. My parents, boyfriend and I just saw the movie last week. My children had already seen it at least twice already. I thought the movie was awesome. It kept my interest the whole time and I didn't want to leave my seat for nothing.

Hi! I have seen Avatar, twice. The beauty of the colors in the movie, the different types of scenery, all came from imagination! As in the movie, opening ones- self to others way- of- life only broadens insight and increases tolerance. This can also add to knowledge of different ways of coping, in our lives. Now more than ever, individuals need to be reminded this, as it is a subject that never gets old.

My fiance and I took our 2 boys to go see Avatar and we absolutely loved it. Not quite the movie for our younger daughter. I think she would have been scared with some of the "critters." I think the thought behind the movie was exceptional and the graphics were great.

Hey Vickie,

I have not seen Avatar yet but have heard good things about it. I will probably wait until it is on DVD, I don't get out much! I did watch the Oscars' though I was not suprised to find that I was not firmiliar with any of the nominated movies. Gee whiz makes me wonder what I do all day! Maybe that is how I will reward myself when I get an account with a firm, I will go to the movies. Got to take baby steps.

Hi,
I saw Avatar and didn't care for it - Yes, the visuals were breathtaking and the color - WOW! But, the story line was the same ol thing. The plot wasn't new - it was a Western in different clothes - it was good vs evil. Greed vs nature.
I saw the Hurt Locker and thought it was a gripping story that had me on the edge of my seat many time. At the end, I found myself saying - how many times a day does this action go on? How many times do our young men not only get physically damaged BUT how many more are psychologically damaged? After 1 tour - after 2 tours - after 3 tours, how can any of them come back to "a normal" life style w/o needing some type of counseling? It was very sad.......
I also saw the Blind Side. I thought this was one of the most inspirational stories I've seen in a long while! It made you laugh, cry and laugh again! It showed the huge heart of a family to help someone not so fortunate. And, if given the love, support and means - someone who has had very little education can overcome anything and become a success.
That is something all new-start LNC's should remember - sometimes the odds seem tough but w/ good support and perseverance - you can overcome anything and be wildly successful!!

I too loved Avatar. I really didn't have any desire to see it, but one free weekend and trying to find a movie that both my husband (who loves sci-fi) would like and could be equally enjoyed by my granddaughter, meant that the pickens were slim. So we all agreed on Avatar. Wow! Everyone loved it!

I also loved Hurt Locker (although this definitely isn't one for young kiddies), but as the mother of a soldier and a marine, seeing what our young military service men and women are willing to sacrifice for our country always inspires me to be a better American and to appreciate our freedoms.
